Budget Blinds Franchise is a Great Opportunity for Veterans

There are many pursuits military personnel can partake in once they become veterans. For example, they can engage in community service work, or even adopt a hobby they’re passionate about. In honor of National Armed Forces Day on May 18th, Budget Blinds– the largest window coverings franchise company in the nation – believes there is one pursuit in particular that military veterans are already well prepared for; starting their own franchise business.

Larry McDaniel, a Budget Blinds franchisee and Marine Corps veteran, had this to say about the franchise business opportunity: “I can tell you firsthand that being in the military instills valuable traits in an individual that will pay dividends during their entrepreneurial pursuits. Traits such as integrity, teamwork, commitment, and determination, can all be directly applied to the business environment and will have a great impact on the success of their franchise company.”

“Starting my own Budget Blinds franchise business was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” said Larry Sportello, a veteran of the US Navy and current Budget Blinds franchisee. “The Budget Blinds business model is thorough and effective, and the team at the corporate office has been there to support me every step of the way. The best part is it’s a home-based business which allows me to spend more quality time with my family.”

Starting a franchise business can be a rewarding experience for veterans. Budget Blinds presents a unique and distinctive franchise business opportunity in the home improvement industry. With a proven business model, financial incentives, extensive training and an ongoing support system, Budget Blinds offers military veterans across the country a fulfilling career path for life after active duty.

Budget Blinds on George to the Rescue this Weekend

Budget Blinds is excited to announce that this Saturday, April 27th, we will be featured on NBC’s hit home improvement series George to the Rescue! The episode will air at 10am EST on NBC 4 in major cities across the country – please check your local listings for details.

George to the Rescue features home improvement guru George Oliphant as he tackles remodeling projects that benefit families and community organizations in need. On this episode, our window franchise business partnered with the show to help renovate the Boys and Girls Club of Newark, New Jersey as part of our continuous efforts to build meaningful relationships with the community.

Every day, over 200 teens gather at the Boys and Girls Club of Newark to seek guidance and education from caring community role models.  The “teen room” is the center of the kid’s social atmosphere that hosts a variety of programs and simultaneously fosters responsibility, character and discipline. Unfortunately, the room was in need of a major renovation and the Boys and Girls Club lacked the resources to move forward with one. That’s where Budget Blinds and George to the Rescue came in!

It was such an honor to come together with the show’s team and also with the Boys and Girls Club of Newark to help provide a positive atmosphere for the kids. “Using a solutions based approach, we were able to maximize every square inch of the room while incorporating stylish design elements to make it a trendy and comfortable hangout for teens,” says CEO of Budget Blinds, Chad Hallock. “We are very excited to have had the opportunity to work with such a deserving organization in support of future generations.” With the help, hard work, and commitment put forth by Budget Blinds of Westfield franchisee David Powell, our window franchise was able to install motorized graphic shades on every window in the teen room. Each features an inspirational quote from a community or celebrity role model to help keep the kids ambitious. The graphic shades themselves were made possible through a generous donation from our trusted shade manufacturing partner Draper Inc. so a big thanks to them!

NBC’s George to the Rescue averages over a million viewers per episode, and we are thrilled to be part of such an impactful effort. Tune in to NBC 4 this Saturday, April 27th at 10am EST and watch Budget Blinds and George to the Rescue help create a safe haven for teens at the Boys and Girls Club of Newark!

Budget Blinds Receives Industry Award

Budget Blinds Receives Canadian Franchise Association Award

On April 11, 2013, the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) announced the recipients of the 2013 Franchisees’ Choice Designation at a gala awards presentation during the CFA National Convention in Montréal, Quebec. This is the third year for the annual Franchisees’ Choice Designation program, and Budget Blinds received third place in the New/Emerging category (franchising for 3-10 years)!

The Franchisees’ Choice designees are CFA member franchise systems who voluntarily took part in an independently-administered survey. Their franchisees were asked to rate the franchisor in key areas of the franchise business model, including the franchisee selection process; franchisee Information package; leadership; business planning and marketing; training and support; ongoing operations; and the relationship between the franchisor and franchisee. In order to qualify for this designation, a minimum of 10% of a brand’s franchisees must participate. In many cases, franchisee responses were significantly higher.

“The true strength of a franchise system lies in the mutually-rewarding relationship between a franchisor and its franchisees,” says Chad Hallock, CEO. “Being a Franchisees’ Choice designee is a great honor because the high ranking in franchisee satisfaction comes directly from the franchisees themselves.”

In the due diligence process of investigating a franchise opportunity, speaking with existing franchisees about the opportunity being explored is essential. For prospective franchisees, the Franchisees’ Choice designation identifies that a franchise brand has received solid endorsement and ratings from its franchisees. The 2013 Franchisees’ Choice designees are representative of the spectrum of franchise opportunities and the diversity and excellence of CFA members.
Budget Blinds truly appreciates the dedication of all franchisees, and receiving this award of ranking as one of the best franchises would not be possible without all of their support!

Budget Blinds Lends a Helping Hand

Partnering with the popular home improvement show Designing Spaces, and the local non-profit organization Rebuilding Together, Budget Blinds received the honor and opportunity to help renovate a home for a Florida family in need on the 3 episode segment “Spaces of Hope”. Airing on Designing Spaces on Lifetime television, Thursday, April 11th, 2013, the window franchise business worked alongside local volunteers to completely renovate the home of Joy Stewart’s and her four grandchildren.

Before the makeover, Joy and her family of four were found living in a home with no heat, running water, electricity, or food. With the help of our vendor partner, Custom Brands Group, and franchisees Connie Bolton and Tom Kay, Budget Blinds was able to provide Enlighten Styles cellular shades throughout the home to help add to the final touches of their new abode. Franchisee Tom Kay elaborates on his experience working with the community, “It was truly rewarding to work hands-on with everyone and to help implement my home business ideas into the creation of something so critical for this family. Budget Blinds is the best franchise and it was great to be involved with this local project.”

Budget Blinds is honored to have been part of such a revolutionizing experience in the Stewart’s lives and also to have had the chance to collaborate with the South Florida community. The effort would not have been possible without our wonderful vendors, franchisees, Designing Spaces, and Rebuilding together. We look forward to playing an active role in more local business franchise opportunities in the near future! To catch the full story, please tune in at 7:30 a.m. to view the series of three episodes airing on Lifetime television on 4/4, 4/11, and 4/18.

Budget Blinds Partners with NBC's George to the Rescue to Help the Boys and Girls Club

Window coverings franchise, Budget Blinds, along with its sister company Tailored Living, recently partnered with NBC’s popular home improvement show George to the Rescue to help renovate the Boys and Girls Club of Newark, NJ. Every day, over 200 teens gather in a teen room at the Boys and Girls Club of Newark to seek guidance and support from caring community role models. According to the Boys and Girls Club, about 50% of Newark teens never graduate from high school and they've made it a priority to try and change that statistic. To learn more about the problem, and how the Boys and Girls Club is making a difference, visit here.

Because of years of use by different generations of teens, the teen room was in dire need of a renovation, and the Boys and Girls Club lacked the resources to move forward with one. After hearing about this situation, Budget Blinds was eager to help such a worthy cause.

Budget Blinds installed motorized graphic shades featuring inspirational quotes on every window in the teen room. Motorized shades were chosen because they're inherently kid-friendly and easy to operate. The graphic shades were made possible through a generous donation from Budget Blinds' shade manufacturing partner Draper Inc. and by the hard installation work done by Budget Blinds of Westfield franchisee David Powell.

Chad Hallock, CEO of Budget Blinds and Tailored Living, comments about what a great experience this renovation was for Budget Blinds. “It was a pleasure to utilize our blind business for such a great cause — we were able to maximize every square inch of the room while incorporating stylish and functional design elements to make it a trendy and comfortable hangout for teens. We are very excited to have had the opportunity to contribute to such a deserving organization in support of future generations.”

Be sure to tune in to NBC 4 on April 27th at 10am EST to watch Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and George to the Rescue improve the lives of teens at the Boys and Girls Club in Newark!
