Home Franchise Concepts Announces the Million Dollar Franchise Event!

It’s Budget Blinds' and Tailored living’s way of thanking and supporting our veterans and military service men and women to help build their future.

"Thank you so much for your dedication to this country . . . and without you and your families making sacrifices, my partners and I could not have started our business . . . and been allowed to live the American Dream that we so richly enjoy

"In an effort to pay you back, we have started a Veteran program, The Million Dollar Franchise Event, to really thank you."

Meet Larry Sportello, a Budget Blinds franchisee and US Navy veteran. Larry owns and operates the Budget Blinds of Keene in Boston and has been a franchise owner since October, 2008. He enjoys being his own boss and has this to say about how his military background helped prepare him to run his Budget Blinds business:

"I can tell you firsthand that being in the military instills valuable traits in an individual that will pay dividends during their entrepreneurial pursuits. Traits such as integrity, discipline, and determination can be directly applied to the business environment and will help them succeed."

    Derek Harris

Meet Derek Harris, a Tailored Living franchisee and US Navy veteran. Derek purchased his TL franchise in Denver, CO, and has been operating his business since March, 2013. Read what Derek says about the Tailored Living opportunity:

"I chose Tailored Living because the company structure was compatible with my hands-on attitude and because I enjoy working with people to achieve goals. I’ve been able to carry over the work ethic I gained during my time in the military and incorporate it into my day to day business activities which made for an easy transition."

    supporting the veteran community

Over the years, Budget Blinds and Tailored Living have played an active role in support of veterans. One of the company’s founders, Tony Forbes, has a brother currently serving in the United States Navy. His father is a veteran of WWII and was on-site when Pearl Harbor was bombed. Needless to say, the company’s ties to the United States Armed Forces are strong.

On two separate occasions, Budget Blinds and its sister company, Tailored Living, have teamed up with NBC’s hit home improvement series George to the Rescue to help furnish homes for veterans in need. The two featured veterans, Corporal Sherman Watson (pictured below) and Staff Sergeant Sandra Lee, were in desperate need of home renovations and we were honored to be of service.

Budget Blinds and Tailored Living are proud to announce that we have had veterans in our franchise system since 2006. These entrepreneurs still receive on-going support and training from their dedicated corporate business coach. They also enjoy a support system of fellow franchise owners.

Budget Blinds and Tailored Living believe the skills military veterans learned during service have prepared them for a successful role as franchise business owners. To encourage them to make this rewarding transition into civilian life, Home Franchise Concepts is launching the Million Dollar Franchise Event.

the million dollar franchise event: turning veterans into entrepreneurs

The American Dream is a privilege that has been passed down from generation to generation thanks to not only the principles laid forth by our founding fathers, but to the members of the military who have put their lives on the line to protect them. More so than anyone, veterans deserve the opportunity to live the American Dream and this embodies what the Million Dollar Franchise Event hopes to accomplish.

The HFC Million Dollar Franchise Event grants a discount off the purchase price of a Budget Blinds or Tailored Living franchise with a goal of granting 30 or more franchise territories to qualified veterans to reach a million dollars in total discounts. This is our way of giving back to veterans to help them take the next step in owning their own business and building a financial future.
